Welcome to the e-learning section of the "Numerical methods for weather prediction" training course that will take place at the ECMWF headquarters in Reading on 11 to 15 November 2024.

This course describes contemporary methods, recent advancements, and the challenges in numerical techniques which are used across a wide spectrum of weather prediction models for solving the governing equations of atmospheric dynamics on High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems. The covered methods have relevance in short-term and medium-term forecasting, seasonal forecasting, climate prediction, as well as global and limited-area modelling.

We encourage you to explore this e-learning platform and make use out of its interactive functions such as the forums, to get to know each other and discuss anything you'd like between participants ahead of meeting each other in November.
